Copyediting positions are now available at The Mass Media, UMB’s independent student newspaper. This is a great chance to learn more about copyediting and practice the skills it requires.
The newsroom environment at The Mass Media is fun, fast-paced, and dependent on teamwork. It’s the perfect place for people who value being plugged into what is happening on campus and off. Weekly hour commitment alternates between 5 hours and 10 hours, depending on whether or not we are printing (Mass Media runs on a two week cycle). Good grammar skills are necessary and prior knowledge of Associated Press Stylebook is a plus. Students can work this copyeditor position as an internship, or get paid through workstudy. If students do not have workstudy, there are still opportunities to get paid, although not as many.
Job inquiries should be sent to Mass Media Editor-in-Chief, Gabe Sanchez at spitfiresanchez@gmail.com.
